Practice Policies

Late Cancellation & Missed Appointment Policy

It is the aim of this practice to ensure that dental appointments are not wasted and time is spent to help our patients throughout the day. A missed appointment means that our dentists are unable to see other patients for their dental care.
By registering at the practice you are agreeing to follow the policy below:

24 Hour Notice Cancellation

If your appointment time becomes inconvenient for you, we are happy to change it if you provide us with at least 24hours notice. This allows us to schedule in a patient who may be in need of our care. Cancellations should be made by telephone. If the practice is closed you can email us on info@ballybot.com

Less Than 24 Hours Notice

Failure to provide us with 24hours notice will result in a late cancellation fee. The fee is based on the length of the appointment. It is understandable that sometimes cancellations cannot be helped due to illness or emergencies and we will take all valid circumstances into account.

The fee must be cleared before further appointments can be made.

NHS De-registration Policy

We are currently not accepting new NHS patients. Due to the high demand of NHS spaces and shortage of dentists it is important for you to attend regular appointments. If you have not been seen in 18 months or more you will be automatically de-registered, we will aim to send reminders but it is the patient’s responsibility to keep on top of appointments.

Ballybot Zero Tolerance Policy

Abusive or violent behaviour towards staff will not be tolerated in Ballybot Surgery.

A mutual respect between all staff & patients must be in place.

Staff understand when patients are in pain and distress they may not always act in a reasonable manner-this of course is taken into consideration when dealing with complaints.

In order for the practice to maintain excellent relationships with their patients we ask you to take note of behaviour that will be found unacceptable
-Verbal abuse which includes shouting, bad language both in person or over the phone.
-Physical Violence.
-Racial Abuse
-Persistent or unrealistic demands that cause stress to staff(requests will be met wherever possible)

Removal from our list is a rare event but when the trust is irreparably broken down, it is in the patients interest ,as well as the practice that they should find a new practice.
